  • Joey was by far the greatest book I have read in a long time. I laughed, I cried and was so moved how children were being helped with the love of a horse. How we as adults can learn from life’s difficulties and use experience later to help someone else. We just need compassion and love for others! That’s what Joey is about! Great book and Great read!

  • Heidi is a gifted author who’s words and stories draw you in from page one. . She has an amazing ability to make you feel like you are in both of these worlds and situations.
I look forward to her newest release coming in April.

  • Joey was the most incredible book I read in a long tim Very inspired. I definitely cried, but it also gave me the courage to step out in “blind faith” – just like Joey- to something new in my life. God used this book to teach me. Plus I love horses, so it was an A+ read all around!

  • It was a great story of faith and trust in our Lord. How love can build trust and faith. What impact Hope Reins has made on hurting children with love from horse hurting in different ways. God can use anyone, if we trust in Jesus and follow Him. This book was a wonderful story of this faith and trust.

  • Heidi’s story creates a surprising view of a horrific act. Sometimes, none if us are immune to reality.

  • I received the book in the mail yesterday and I started it last night and finished it today and I’ve not felt like reading for years, yet when I saw this book, I knew I needed to get it. I cried more when Speckles died, than my own dog… If Hope Reins was near me, I would volunteer there, I am considering starting something similar.. I’ve not had a book impact me as much as this one has.

  • Joey truly changed our future. On the brink of retirement, my husband and I realized God was calling us to a ministry to reach at risk children with our rescued horses. Because of God’s leading in these pages, the Grand Opening of Glory Reins Stables will be May 18th in Utica, Ohio, just an hour out of Columbus. Already, kids who are cutting, have attempted suicide, have struggled with the law, have mild cerebral palsey and autism are desiring to come. With only a partially blind horse, a half-linger who was worn out by the trails, and a new mustang, born in the wild, tattooed, a victim of divorce and rescued from slaughter…we can’t wait to see what God is going to do. Words cannot express our gratitude to Jennifer Bleakley for sharing her heart in the story of Joey.

  • I just finished reading Joey and could not put it down. This is by far one of the best reads in a long time.
We are raising two children whose parents and grandmother were murdered almost 3 years ago in our town, north of Raleigh, NC.
Someone recommended Hope Reins to us and we filled out all the paper work and the kids were approved. They will be starting their 3rd season there next month.
Last year when Joey was released, I ordered two books for the kids and gave it to them as their last day of school gift. It has been passed around so that’s why it took me so long to read it.
Hope Reins is everything the book talks about and more. They have helped the kids and my husband and I get through some unchartered waters. They listen and pray with us each visit.
As I’m writing this, we are in jury selection for the murder trial which is to begin on March 25th, the 3rd year Anniversary of this horrible tragedy that changed these kid’s lives.
I thank God everyday for Kim, her staff and Hope Reins. They are truly helping many families. I am so thankful to know them.

  • Joey was the best book I have ever read. I laughed and cried as I read it. I read it out loud to my children, and now all my son talks about is wanting a horse, and he said he will name it Joey. We would love to go visit Hope Reins sometime when we are in the area. What a beautiful ministry to minister to children who are bruised and broken.

  • Joey was such a wonderful and emotional read. I have shared how wonderful this book is to many people. I bought the book to send to my granddaughter in Texas. We are a family who loves horses. We all use to ride a lot. I told my son and granddaughter I would like to take a road trip to Hope Reines in North Carolina to see the ranch. Think I would like to get a copy for myself, I checked it out at the Liburary. I saw it in the book store at the Dallas Texas Airport Love Field. I did not buy it but looked for it when I got home, could not find it. I had to check it out at the Library. What a great little book. I love it.?❤️

  • This little book caught my eye from the shelve of my local library. I checked it out, took it home, and read it in a day. I laughed, I cried, I fell in love with this dear soul and all that is being accomplished by Hope Reins. Proof that GOODNESS exists in this world!

  • Regarding the book “Joey”:

” But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee, and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee…that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this!”…in Whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. Job 12:7, 9-10

Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto Thy Name give glory…! Psalm 115:1

    “HOPE” Reigns at Hope Reins!
    “…Christ Jesus, Who is our HOPE…” 1 Timothy 1:1

Praise Him, Who alone is worthy!☝
