Is It Any Wonder by Courtney Walsh is the story of two friends, Louisa Chambers and Cody Boggs, whose lives were torn apart by tragedy. Over a decade later, their worlds collide, and as they plan a fundraiser together, neither can deny the spark each encounter ignites. The word I would use to describe Louise is quirky, though I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t describe herself that way. Louisa is a people lover who has a natural gift for entertaining. She feels things deeply and wants desperately for everyone to love her.
1.) Her favorite outdoor summer activity: Not paddleboarding. But I do think she ends up enjoying learning to sail.
2.) Song she listens to on repeat: Louisa loves happy music. She has a special attachment to Ingrid Michelson, and more specifically, the song “The Lotto.”
3.) Her favorite place to go on a date with Cody: Brant Point Lighthouse. So much history there.
4.) Her favorite inspirational quote or saying: “There is nothing more truly artistic than loving people.” – Vincent Van Gogh
5.) Her favorite thing about Cody: His kindness. But his abs might be a close second. 😉
6.) What she loves most about living on Nantucket: It’s home. So many of her memories—both good and bad—are right there are the island.
7.) One word she’d choose to describe herself: Spunky and maybe underestimated.
8.) One dream she has for her future: For her plan to help more people experience the beauty of Nantucket to expand and reach more people than she could imagine.
Cody Boggs has been trying to outrun his past for years, and wouldn’t you know it, somehow life took him right back to where he started—Nantucket. With a huge heart and a whole lot of guilt, Cody is trying to do as much good as he can for as many people as he can. After all, he has a lot to make up for.
1.) His favorite outdoor summer activity: Jogging on the beach. Hiking. Sailing. Pretty much anything you can do outdoors, Cody loves it.
2.) His favorite place to go on a date with Louisa: Cody would be content going just about anywhere as long as Louisa was with him.
3.) His favorite inspirational quote or saying: Semper Paratus, the Coast Guard motto. It means “Always ready.”
4.) His favorite thing about Louisa: She genuinely cares about people. So much so that she’s created a whole business designed to serve others. And she doesn’t do it for the money—she does it because she wants to make them happy.
5.) What he loves most about living on Nantucket: Truthfully, Cody and Nantucket have a rocky relationship. He’s not sure about living on the island—too many ghosts. But if he has to be there, the best thing about it is his close proximity to Lou.
6.) One word he’d choose to describe himself: Driven.
7.) One dream he has for his future: To have a family, and to be really good at it.
