We wouldn’t leave out our male authors for this Valentine’s series! Even we sighed and smiled at Chris Fabry’s greatest Valentine’s memory.
- What is your favorite literary romance, and what makes it your favorite?
As a guy I know I’m not supposed to like Jane Eyre, but I love the strength of character she has and the choices she makes in spite of her desires. Her story isn’t as much about romance as it is staying true to who she really is and remaining grounded in that truth. It’s just a soaring and beautiful story.
- What is your favorite Valentine’s memory, or what is the most romantic thing anyone ever did for you?
A couple of years ago we were going through a dismal time in our family life. Valentine’s Day used to be this big production that my wife was able to do with the kids, and that was one thing we let go. I made a CD of songs, along with help from the kids, for Andrea, and one of them was True Companion by Marc Cohn. Andrea got up and danced with me as they played the song. It was a special moment.
