I have struggled to understand why we are to, in symbol, drink Christ’s blood, when in the old covenant it was forbidden to consume the blood of a sacrifice in any way. I know the blood is required for atonement, and for a covenant. I also just observed that animal offerings were accompanied by flour and wine…

Thank God for the new Covenant and thank you to NLT for making the Bible so easy to understand and digest. Keep up the great work and my God co to use to bless you. I also really enjoy these word translation summaries. Much needed to help debunk the myths among non Christians that the Bible is corrupt and has been changed over time. The actual wording may be changed literally but the meaning and God’s truth remind the same. Thank you so much

Why not reference the terms of the new covenant that Jesus references and the author of Hebrews confirms? The new covenant is laid out in Jeremiah.
