The NLT is designed to be accessible to readers of all ages and stages of life. Its clarity allows everyone— from new believers to seasoned scholars—to understand the Bible deeply and engage with it meaningfully.
The NLT scholars began their work with extensive proficiency in understanding the original-language texts in their ancient contexts. Then they expertly translated the meaning into expressions that are clear to readers of English in the twenty-first century. The NLT translation philosophy helps readers access the texts’ original meaning in words they can truly understand.
This translation philosophy means the New Living Translation is well suited for sermon preparation, preaching, teaching, Bible study, family devotions, group discussions and everyday reading for people of all ages and stages of life.

Does the NLT come in the form of a study Bible I currently have a NKJV STUDY BIBLE , how much more accurate is the NLT than than the Bible I have
Yes! We have lots of NLT Study Bibles available. You can find them at tyndale.com Thanks!
I own a copy of Tyndale “HelpFinder” Bible, along with 5 other bibles. I utilize the Tyndale version FAR more often than the others combined. I have found that the Tyndale “Helpfinder” Bible is well-organized, the scriptures are written in a clear-to-understand style, and the Helpfinder index (e.g. Anxiety, death, etc.) is an extremely helpful aspect of this unique bible. Tyndale is to be commended for producing such an extraordinary and inspiring spiritual tool. Thank you Tyndale!
I love my Bible and use my NLT with Filament daily and this is not a complaint but a highlight of a great tool/asset on an earlier version of the NLT Study Bible (a large, heavier but excellent resource). There was a very useful cross reference in the Gospels where the corresponding parable/event was given above each event in the other Gospels so that you get a deeper and more rounded experience. There was also a list of index which you could refer to and search a specific event, such as the feeding of the 5 thousand and it would give the references in the 4 Gospels. As I previously mentioned this is not a complaint but rather a reference to a tool that I found immensely helpful and used on a regular basis.
God Bless and thanks for all your work and a wonderful resource, a Brother in Christ, Steve.
Hi my name is Steve and I posted a comment dated 30/07/2025, regarding a previous NLT Study Bible that I wore out and replaced it with a newer model with access to Filament.
I was making reference to a very useful tool so I dusted off the old boy and it turns out that it’s a NLT Study Bible, Second Edition, 2008.
The index as I wrongly called it is actually found in the Introduction to the New Testament, on page 1567, under the heading NLT Harmony of the Four Gospels, and it’s one of the many fantastic resources available and something that I frequently used along with the parallel verse notations in the Gospels themselves.
Hint hint,a possible great addition to a Filament update 😉.
Thanks for the wonderful work you do and Gods’ Best for your ministry at Tyndale, Steve.
